The Cliffs of Los Gigantes

Impressive, majestic and addictive. When you see these cliffs for the first time you will want to get closer to them. The sight is overwhelming: their 500 meter-high walls seem as they are glowering over the sea. Admire them from a kayak, a sailing boat or whilst whale watching. Open

Los Guíos Beach

Quiet, clean, with fine sand and crystal-clear water, it is a front row seat for contemplating the stunning cliffs of Los Gigantes. After enjoying a refreshing swim, you can have something to drink in one of the local bars and finish the day with a walk around the marina. Open

Puerto Santiago Beach

A beach for the whole family and one of the locals’ favourites, La Arena beach shows off its blue flag year after year. You cannot resist swimming in its clean, crystal-clear water or lying on its volcanic sand, not forgetting to put on sunscreen, as the sun here is very strong. Open

The Cha Domitila Pottery Centre and Ethnographic Museum

Make a stop in the village of Arguayo and discover this restored farmhouse with a beautiful central courtyard. You will learn about traditional techniques used by the ancient inhabitants of the Canary Islands to work clay. You cannot miss out on this visit if you love pottery or want to understand better the island’s customs. Open

Narices del Teide Viewpoint

Do not miss out on visiting the Narices del Teide viewpoint. From here, you can enjoy a panoramic view over the remains of the historical 1798 eruption of Las Narices del Teide, on the southwestern slope of Pico Viejo, the last and the longest eruptive process in the National Park. Open

Sámara Viewpoint

Stand at the Sámara viewpoint and enjoy fantastic views of the Pico Viejo volcano in the background, with the Sámara volcano to your left. The landscape is also spotted with other volcanic cones. Open

Los Poleos Viewpoint

Imagine the extent of some of the volcanic eruptions while standing at the Los Poleos viewpoint. It boasts views of the area of Tenerife where most of the recent eruptions in the island took place. Open

Mirador de Chirche Restaurant

What better excuse is there to make an en-route stop than to taste the authentic local cuisine? If you like eating surrounded by beautiful views, stop at the Mirador de Chirche restaurant. Open from 9.00am to 9.00pm. Saturdays closed. Open

El Rancho Restaurant

If you also love discovering the places you visit through their cuisine, sit down at the table at the El Rancho restaurant in Chío. 100% Canarian food and a small museum in the garden, dedicated to the Guanches. Open every day from 9.00am to 5.00pm. Open

At Delicias del Sol you can buy natural, artisan products prepared from Tenerife fruits. Since its opening over 20 years ago, the delicatessen has created over 100 gourmet products featuring jams, mojos, chutneys and sambales. Open every day from 9.00am to 5.00pm. Sundays closed. Open

Guía de Isora Petrol Station

The Teide National Park is a protected area. As such, it does not have any petrol stations. For your safety, remember to check the tank of your vehicle before passing by the last petrol station on this route in order to make sure that you have enough fuel to go to and return from Mount Teide. Open
